Abstract:As potential talents and intellectual resources, international students in China boost the development of the "Belt and Road" initiative. After their return to their home countries, they play an irreplaceable role in building the international talents team of Chinese enterprises abroad and promoting friendly exchanges between China and their home countries. Based on the push-pull theory and a questionnaire survey of a few universities in Shanghai for exploratory factor analysis (EFA), this study intends to find key factors affecting the return of overseas students in China. The results of the study show that the influence factors from their home countries play a greater role in boosting international students' going back homes, whereas the push-pull factors differ significantly in aspects of the regions coming from and their academic degrees. Hence, their proficiency in Chinese and Chinese culture reduces the impact of pull forces of international students' going back home.
