Abstract:Labor-capital relations are a key indicator of the social relations at the grassroots level in Taiwan. This study focuses on reflecting its development trend of social contradictions and collective actions. In recent years, the working class in Taiwan is increasingly in a condition of lowlevel labor rights with "long working hours, low pay, and less vacation-taking". Under the intensification of the "One Case One Break" law reform implemented by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) after its taking office, malfunctions of regulations took place in the three-level system of the labor-law regulation mechanism, the mechanism of labor negotiation, and mechanism of political party regulation. This paper discusses both the class-consciousness of the working class's dissatisfaction with current economic development difficulties, and its limitations of development in the complex changing international political structure in Taiwan. Furthermore, the phenomenon above also brings about opportunities and institutional implications for the working class in Taiwan to improve their rights and destiny in aspects of the political empowerment, collective negotiation, and the integration of young labor groups.
