Abstract:During the period of 1948-1953, Chen Yun, the Chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, put forward tasks of the trade unions work in the Liberated Areas on the 6th National Labor Conference. His wisdom and work marked the fundamental transformation of the trade union work policy after seizing power of the working class. Thereafter, he took the trade union work into consideration in the overall situation of the State construction, and made a series of expositions on the working class and the work of the trade unions. In his remarks, Chen Yun advocated wholeheartedly adhering to the guideline of relying on the working class, caring for the vital interests of workers, and attaching importance to the role of trade unions. His ideas and propositions enriched the policy of workers' movement and promoted its development and trade union work in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic. Moreover, they have laid a theoretical foundation for the formation and development of the thoughts of workers' movement in New China. Today, they still serve as an important reference and guiding role.
