Abstract:National Census can not only provide data support for population research ,but also provide data support for the policy-making of national economic and social development, which is of great significance. Based on the seventh national census data, historical population statistics, and previous census data, this study, by conducting a detailed summary and analysis of the latest demographic trends and characteristics in China, finds that the latest changes in China1 s population are mainly reflected in its continuous growth. However, the growth rate and amplitude have continued to slow down, and are approaching zero growth and negative growth. Furthermore, the aging of the population has accelerated, and the labor force has continued to decrease. The study suggests that measures be taken to improve the efficiency of resource utilization, manage the gender ratio at birth, continuously improve the quality of the population, and accelerate the pace of reform of the household registration system to adapt to the new changes in the current population situation.
